I Want to Be Your Artist (2003)

I want to be your artist
I want to sing your tunes
'Want to help paint word pictures
Under sun and moon

Wrestle for a blessing
You know I want it bad
Because to be one of your artists
Is the greatest joy I've ever had.

'Met a lady artist
So beautiful was she
'Said she'd sell her pictures off for cheap
If she could only help more see

Colors bright and hopeful
Instead of advertisements dark
Too many lives are spiraling down
They need a walk in a pretty park.

I said that is so true
I could not more agree
Add to that God's words of life
Light by which to see.

They paint paradise earth
Teach humble, grateful hearts
Tell what our Maker wants of us
So in his New World, we'll have a part

You want to be his artist
You want to sing his tunes
'Want to help paint word pictures
Under sun and moon

Wrestle for a blessing
You know you want it bad
Because to be one of his artists
Would be the greatest joy you've ever had.

I met a sweet guitarist
Then he asked of me
Where do you get your inspiration from
For your poetry?

I had to come back and tell him,
With God's words in my hands,
I'm so thankful, I must share this:
He's building a giant band!

Like David of old
Can you hear a Kingdom song
Wafting all across the globe
Getting stronger as the end comes on?

Jah's gathering up a chorus
Of who'd shout his truth with joy
Learn his song, follow it along
Tell every girl and boy!

You want to be his artist
You want to sing his tunes
'Want to help paint word pictures
Under sun and moon

Wrestle for a blessing
You know you want it bad
Because to be one of his artists
Would be the greatest joy you've ever had.

I want to be your artist
I want to sing your tunes
Want to help paint word pictures
Under sun and moon

Wrestle for a blessing
You know I want it bad
Because to be one of your artists
Is the greatest joy I've ever had.
