War of Words

People think that words don't really matter
Just a push or a shove or a gun
But words of truth or lies have vital power
Life or death can flow out from our tongues.

What you say now indicates your future
What you tell, if you help to save
Sing lies or selfish, wrong desires
Might lead someone to a forever grave.

A war of words is fought like never before
As Satan works to undermine The Way
Only with Jah's shield can you stand firm
Only minding his words can you stay.

Thoughts of lies can become poison arrows
Senders could take aim upon your heart
Might backstab, manipulate, and poke doubts
Putting down God's words, as if that's smart.

But those who grip the strong sword of God's spirit,
Cherish and preach his inspired words
Have the Maker of the Universe behind them
To teach his Bible 'til all earth has heard.
