Midnight, Train Station (2005, finished 2010)

Midnight, train station
Across waves
In a foreign land
My protest
Was defeated
I heard the voice
Of an old man -

"Did you find what you were looking for?"
He called to me, by surprise
I fumbled with my answer
To this stranger passing by

Did he mean on the computer there
Which was so hard to use,
Or could it be
That he was asking
If I knew then
What I should do?...

He asked a second time,
I'm not sure what I said
But this odd encounter
Stayed within my head....

But I didn't give up,
And I didn't quit -
Instead I went forward
With more of this.
