Taste and See that Jehovah is Good

Dear Jehovah
You would have me eat these things -
Wondrous creations, growing off green plants
In the sunshine
Deep red jewel-berries
among living green rustling fabric shapes of leaves
The taste will be purely delicious!
It will nourish - I already anticipate that.

There are those, and a wicked world system.
That would cut me off from this,
From experiencing a peace -
This wonderful connection
Of me, your Son, You,
And the fullness and reality of these gifts of your creation.
What you give, free, they would have me not see.
They would rather see me controlled, life wasted,
Life deprived, by the distress they make,
While they live and harm, according to lies...
According to the lies they love,
Rather than You,
Though they speak of you and what you "say",
They violate You and your own words,
and work injustice.
Hypocrites.

You though, Jehovah, do NOT violate me
You bring me no harm
Instead, You tenderly care for me
And help me every day.

I see your gifts
I do not want to be too busy to notice them,
To partake of them, to thank You for them.
I delight in them, and thank you for them.
I will thank you for them
I will sing your praise, in front of the national groups.
I want to stay awake and aware
towards your spirit and its guidings, always.
Never leave me.

You are God.
Even now, you open your hand and delight.
Even now, you have me - you let me -
Simply reach, take, and hold in my hand
Gifts of life from You
Like life-giving berries,
Which I pluck, from miracle plants,
And then stare at, in amazement and gratitude to You -
At these red, exquisite, juicy things in my hand.
I see, once again, that you care for me and love me
And I thank you for the freedom, warmth, and hope I have,
From You,
Despite the hateful and unrighteous ruiners of this world.

They will have to answer to You.

In the meantime, I get to enjoy your company,
And your gifts.
Thank YOU for your blessings.
In the times of distress, help me to keep noticing them,
To keep bringing them to mind,
Along with your promises of more
And even greater ones to come.

The sun is warm, the sky is blue,
The green is all around, the birds call, call...
And the raspberries I rinsed in the cool, clear water
(The mellow-melon golden and tropical sunset-colored ones too!)
Were fresh, sweet, and juicy -
They made me feel great!

Thanks always. I will praise your name,
I will tell of your wonderful works
Before all the peoples.

From the gentle breezes under a space-night sky,
To berry-treats from a sunlit greenfield,
You do bless, You give peace, You are God.

Let the music play, let the future roll on.
I'm gonna pause for the cause of a few more berries.
Praise Jah, you people.
